Allow me to quote a venerable document: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." (italics mine for emphasis.)

Okay, since in the past I give my opinion and get blank stares for responses, the responses have to come first...

Are these rights, as stated, true? Are we equal, and do we have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?

Give it some thought - you too, ol' lady Young - and post your responses.

Hmmmm?

(and a corollary: if you don't believe in a Creator, do these enumerated rights belong to you?)

Well the only way to have life is through the Creator. Obviously, any one breathing has it. It is given equally to all who are alive.

Liberty, real liberty or freedom can only come from a relationship with the Creator thought His son. Freedom to fall down, mess up and get back up again and continue in life. And freedom to honor Him in our choices, rejoice in His mercy, and freedom to show His love to the rest of the sinful people like us who don’t know (or maybe don’t care) how much He cares for them.

Pursuit of Happiness if you go to a dictionary most definitions of happiness are based on circumstances. If this is what the founding fathers meant than we pursue in vain. The rain will fall. If we are only looking for the sunny days than we will become dry. If, we on the other hand are looking for Joy, we have to be willing to endure the rain, knowing that through it we will grow.

So there’s my comment

We are all created equal by the Creator. But not in the eyes of the government, especially middle class Christians. I'm not big into politics and really haven't thought about a deep subject like that (hence, the blond hair;). But there isn't much more to add after the Martin family left thier comment! (By the way, I hear that you are moving back. Yeah!)
